Week 1 Summary for Team Receive

Week 1 Summary for Team Receive

IMG_20220613_145620_650.jpg We dare you to find a new, unique name for your fintech start-up. By the time you go through all the funds, cash, pay and money-related names, you would ask yourself why you chose that project in the first place.

The first week in the Receive (group 22 side hustle) startup boot camp was hell. Okay, not literally, but you get the idea. Everything was just everywhere, and it was really hard to know where to start. Eventually, we did and started right in the middle.

You know that thing they say about everything that would go bad will go bad? Yes, it did. Our first ever team meeting was delayed by 28 minutes because my network decided to pull the Houdini on me at the exact time we scheduled for the meeting. I don't know if there would ever be a worse case of village people.

Through the ups and downs, however, we surmounted our challenges and here is our very first report.

Our Product

Our project is to create a startup that extends the integration of the Fintech API to make it easier for developers to integrate payments into their own apps or website. In simple English, we are to create an application that can collect payment and make it easy for developers to easily add it to their website and use it to collect payment. We named our product Receive.

Deliverables

DIGITAL MARKETING AND CONTENT CREATION

As at the 12th of June 2022, we have been able to create the e-mail address, Instagram and Twitter Accounts and LinkedIn page. The Facebook page has also been created but for some reason, the admin’s account was deactivated before other admins were added. It should be rectified soon, though. We have shared ourselves into pairs to handle each of these accounts. React Js (FrontEnd Development)

The front-end development team has been able to create a GitHub repo with the startup name (Receive) github.com/AlmeenT/iPay where the Team were able to contribute the task. The task involved creating a Landing page and a newsletter section. We have been able to complete this. But we are facing issue with connecting to MailChimp as it is new to most of us Here is a deployed link to the task

Product Management

By the end of week 1, the product management team has been shared to oversee and guide the progress of the seven tracks. For our weekly task, we created a product requirement document with user personas of our customers and user stories. We worked with the product design team to design the product’s user flow. We also collaborated with the data analytics and product design teams to conduct user research for the product. PRD: docs.google.com/document/d/1w2V11xHT9S5S-0u..

PRODUCT DESIGN (UI/UX)

The product design team were able to conduct user research, establish a design system, and work on low-fidelity wireframes as of today. The team divided themselves into groups to tackle each work so that everyone could contribute. There were some challenges with the product managers' user flow, which caused a delay in starting the low-fidelity wireframes. The task's links are listed below.

And here is the link to the GitHub repository: github.com/lolademi/recieve Although there were a few issues which slowed down our progress, they have been addressed.

Including comparison of levels of E-payment inclusion in the 3 major Ecommerce markets in Africa. here is the link to the report:docs.google.com/document/d/1vV4Al6Jy_rwot1J..

So far with our project, we have experienced quite the difficulty but we trust ourselves to see it through. Cheers.
